Pats stojau, nes noriu to studentiško gyvenimo skonį pajusti.

Pasidalink stojimo salygomis su zmonemis, kaina, pragyvenimu. Kiek nuoma kainuoja, pragyvenimas besimaitinant menesiui, kiek uz mokslus. Salygos ar galimybes susirasti darba papildomai part time'u. Salygos paskolai. Kuo daugiau info, tuo geriau norintiems studijuot uzsenyje.

Gavau paskolą mokslui 3290svarų metams(tuition fee loan).

Week 2: America and the Silent Era – Hollywood Classicism, the Studio System and the Star Systems

Once again, this is a style of filmmaking that has its origins in artistic movements of the early part of the twentieth century, but also one that was a product of social and political change in Russia. We will chart the development of this influential movement and consider, in particular, the work and theories of Dziga Vertov.

Week 12: CLASS TEST

FLM1004 'How to Read a Film?'

Week 1: Introduction to Reading Film and the Diegetic World
In this first week of the module we will conduct a broad survey of the process of analysing movies, why we analyse movies and how we analyse movies. We will look forward through the full twelve-week schedule and discuss the various assessments that you will be required to complete. You will get the chance to watch a wide variety of film extracts and start to draw out their meanings with your new seminar group.
Week 2: Cinematography – shot sizes, angles and camera movement
This week begins our in-depth introduction into the specific elements of film style that make meaning. Cinematography concerns all of the processes conducted by and through the camera. This week we shall look at how use of the camera creates meaning.
Independent Exercise to complete before the day:
Choose a film sequence from any film with a variety of camera angles and movements (approximately two minutes long). Identify by name the various camera movements, shot sizes and angles. Take notes and be prepared to discuss it in the seminar.
Week 3: Mise-en-scène – Lighting
Week 3 begins a five-week series on one of the most important elements of film style, mise-en-scène, all that you see within the film frame. Without lighting there would be no cinema, and it contributes much to meaning in films. This week we will learn relevant vocabulary, practical concerns and stylistic issues in the reading of lighting.
Independent Exercise:
Watch any short film sequence very carefully (approximately one minute long). Identify (i) all light sources, whether on or off-screen, (ii) the direction of the light, and (iii) what the light achieves in terms of meaning. Take notes and be prepared to discuss it in the seminar.
Week 4: Mise-en-scène – Colour
Lighting and colour are often very closely allied in the communication of meaning in films. This week we learn and discuss the effects and meanings that colour can achieve as well as its relationship with lighting, and will discuss a range of examples from various films.
Independent Exercise:
Examine an extract closely from a colour film in which colour appears to be used in a symbolic manner. Take notes of your thoughts and bring to the seminar.
Week 5: Mise-en-scène – Sets and Locations
From studio-bound productions to movies produced completely on location, spaces and places communicate a vast amount of information instantaneously. This week we will look at a range of movies that make the most of setting and location, and ask why it is such an important factor in film style.
Independent Exercise:
Choose a single film and observe two separate scenes asking the following questions: (i) is the scene filmed on a sound-stage (inside a studio), on a studio lot (which may be outdoors), or on location, and (ii) how can you tell? Bring your notes along to the seminar for discussion.
Week 6: Independent Study Week
Week 7: Mise-en-scène – Costume, Props and Make-up
Note: our screening of the film for today was two weeks ago, bear this in mind when you choose how/when to watch the film.

What a performer wears, carries and looks like is fundamental in the communication of character, narrative and other aspects of meaning. This week we observe the many ways in which costuming, properties and the use of make-up affect the reading of a film.
Independent Exercise:
Identify a film in which make-up and / or costume are greatly significant in the communication of meaning and of character. Write a short paragraph describing the way in which these elements are used and why, and bring along to discuss at the seminar.
Week 8: Performance
Far too often we dismiss the actor’s art as ‘good’ or ‘bad’, but in Film Studies we must analyse it much closer than this and in an objective manner. This week observes and discusses a range of acting styles and approaches, with key performers examined closely.
Independent Exercise:
Choose a single actor’s performance in a single film and write a list, as long as you are able, of words to describe that performance. Be as broad-minded as possible. Bring your list along to the seminar and be ready to discuss it.
Week 9: Composition – Space, Depth, Time
By now you will be noticing changes in the ways that you watch, analyse and discuss films, not just in terms of ideas but also the vocabulary that you are naturally beginning to use. This week, we consolidate much of our new knowledge as we examine the overall composition of shots and how this creates a sense of space, depth and time.
Independent Exercise:
Choose a two-minute extract from a film and create a short essay plan, listing how you would analyse its composition and all aspects of its mise-en-scène. This will act as excellent practice for you in analysis and planning essays. Bring the plan with you to work on in the seminar.
Week 10: Editing – Shot Transitions and Continuity Editing

Important: This week your first assessment for FLM 1004 is due in: 1 x 1000 word analysis of a film frame. You must submit the work by Wednesday 1st December 2010 no later than 4.00pm.

After your in-depth introduction to aspects of mise-en-scène, we now move on to the process that orders individual shots. Editing has remarkable power in the communication of meaning, and yet it often goes unnoticed despite its process of ‘breaking up’ space into fragments. This week we look at editing’s various techniques, vocabulary and potential purposes, particularly those of continuity editing.
Week 11: Editing – Montage and Discontinuity Editing
The Russian film director Sergei Eisenstein was responsible for inventing the practice of montage, the editing together of seemingly unrelated images so that meaning can be drawn or formulated from their juxtaposition. This week, we will examine how montage has been used to articulate political ideas and constructions of the real.
Independent Exercise:
Locate a montage sequence in a film, i.e. a sequence of shots used commonly to rapidly show the passing of events and time. Note the following and bring to the seminar: (i) how long is the sequence? (ii) how many shots are there? (iii) what kinds of shot transitions are used (hard cuts, dissolves, fades, etc.)? (iv) what does the choice of shots communicate?
Week 12: Class Test Wed 15th December
Your Class Test will take place on Wednesday 15th December 2009 at 10.00am in your usual seminar room.

MED1004 'Moving Image Production.'
Pusmetinio plano neturiu.

Kai turi darba turi tada uzsiregsitruoti HOME OFFICE. CIa rytu europieciams. Ji gali gauti tik kai turi darba, nes darboviete turi laiksa parasyti tau ir panasiai. 90svariuku kainuoja :) turi ji darytis kiekviena karta pakeites darba.

Reikalavimai:

Ziuri tevu pajemas. Nebuvau sutikes lietuvio kurio tevu pajemos butu per dideles :)
turi buti atvaziaves i UK pries rugseji.

cia pagrindinai reikalavimai tokie.
